Mission Statement
Establish a youth travel baseball program for the McLean-Great Falls area that will develop elite baseball players, improve their baseball skills and build stronger more competitive teams for High Schools and other leagues. We will accomplish this goal through the use of special training programs, practice and competition.
Baseball Plan
Develop a youth baseball program for all ages of baseball players primarily in the McLean and Great Falls areas to compete in the Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League and selected tournaments.
Schedule
The travel baseball season will begin in the Fall of each year (after all-star season ends) and play games on weekends (primarily on Sunday) during the fall, Spring & summer ending each year with major tournament in August.
Players
Players will be selected for the teams based on a combination of tryout camps, House/School league play and all-star play. All players would be required to tryout each year for each of the teams. Players on a travel team from the previous year are not automatically on the next age-group team.
Playing Time Commitments
During the Fall NVTBL Season we are committed to playing winning baseball and developing players. In the NVTBL portion of our fall season all players will be guaranteed to play at least 40% of the innings played. During baseball tournaments our goal is to enter teams with the ability to win the tournament. Depending on the competition of the tournament we might enter two teams or we will create a select side team that combines the top players from each of the teams. During tournament play there will be no playing time guarantees. Playing time will be determined by the game situation and the player’s ability.
Player Registration Fees
Every player will be responsible for his share of the team’s costs. If the players are willing we will attempt a fundraiser to offset some of these expenses. Player costs will be set at the beginning of the season so that parents can make a decision about their participation. Adjustments to the team expenses will be made during the season depending on the length of the season and the number of games/tournaments the teams play.
